Our Story

Shared roots.

New beginnings.

A future built together.

The Kali Sikaran Alliance grew from decades of training, teaching and friendships across the international Kali Sikaran community.

Our journey has taken us through different countries, organisations and generations of instructors. Through it all, our passion for the art and respect for the people who helped shape it remain.

Our history has shaped who we are. Our shared passion for the art continues to guide where we're going.

Our Roots

A History We Respect

The international Kali Sikaran community has grown through the dedication of many teachers, instructors and practitioners.

We recognise the important contributions of Punong Guro Johan Skålberg and Dakilang Guro Jeff Espinous, whose work helped shape the art and establish international connections that continue to this day.

Through years of seminars, instructor training and international camps, friendships were formed that reached far beyond individual clubs and organisations.

Those experiences, relationships and the knowledge shared along the way remain an important part of our foundation.

We haven't left that history behind. We're building forward from it.

Years of Training and Friendship

More than techniques. More than an organisation.

As Kali Sikaran grew internationally, so did the friendships between its practitioners.

Training camps, seminars, instructor courses and countless hours on the training floor brought people together from different countries and backgrounds.

For many of us, these gatherings became an important part of our lives.

The Mandirigma Camps, held in locations including Tunisia, Thailand, the Philippines and Australia, became meeting places where instructors and students could train, exchange ideas and strengthen friendships beyond their regular clubs.

Over the years, we learned from one another, challenged one another and shared experiences that shaped us as both martial artists and people.

Those relationships did not disappear when our individual paths began to change.

They remain one of the strongest foundations of the Kali Sikaran Alliance.

A New Chapter

Continuing the journey together

After many years within Kali Sikaran International, a group of experienced instructors chose to continue their journey through a new organisation.

The Kali Sikaran Alliance was created to provide an environment where instructors could collaborate, share responsibility and contribute to the future development of the art.

Our intention was never to abandon what we had learned or the people who helped us along the way.

We wanted to preserve the foundations of Kali Sikaran while creating new opportunities for learning, teaching and cooperation.

The result is an Alliance built around shared experience, mutual respect and a genuine commitment to its students.

The Journey Continues

Different Paths. A Shared Future.

Today, the Kali Sikaran Alliance connects instructors, clubs and practitioners across Australia and Europe.

We continue to train, share knowledge and build friendships while helping the next generation discover and develop their own skills.

Our community grows through relationships, cooperation and a shared enthusiasm for Kali Sikaran and other FMA styles.

Whether your journey began with Johan, Jeff or another instructor, you're welcome to get to know us.

Our story is still being written, and there is room for everyone who wants to be part of it.
